Meat has been part of the Waddell family dating back to 1901 when James Waddell opened his first store in Scotland at the age of 22. After immigrating to Western Australia with his family in 1912 he continued his trade with one thing is mind - to be the People's butcher. A motto that has stood the test of time, over 100 years and four generations later Directors Jeanie Waddell & John Psaila head our Management team.
West Coast Meats has a strong relationship with local farmers with whom we buy our livestock. All cattle, lambs and goats are West Australian grown. We take Animal Welfare very seriously and ensure our livestock are cared for at all times.
We do not sell Veal or Wagyu.
We sell the grades in between (YP-YG). Good quality, everyday meat!
Yes, our Meat is certified Halal. Majority of beef and sheepmeat in Australia is processed as Halal. The main difference between Non-Halal & Halal is the person slaughtering the livestock is a Muslim and the meat has not come into contact with pork or any equipment it has been processed on.
All livestock in Australia must be unconscious when slaughtered.
